Ring of Fire // Sparky & Sev

Sev reached out and poked Sparky’s flailing arms with a wide grin on her face, her heels scraping the ground as she walked, forgetting to pick her feet up. Her mind continued to scan the surroundings, her lips twitching at the effort. She raised her free hand to her temple and rubbed her, using her poking hand to grab and hold Sparky’s closest hand. “I’m not all that fun.”

“Well, everyone need an opposite in their life, I suppose…” She pondered on who would be her opposite; she didn’t have a very dramatic personality, like Sparky did. Sev’s personality was more subdued and tame, but nothing that might have a polar. So in that way, she supposed that her opposite might, in fact, be Shift. She shrugged the thought off, looking once again into Sparky’s mind as the girl jumped onto the bench, dragging the brunette halfway up with her.

She saw the tree in the red head’s mind before she actually saw it. Sev smiled lightly; the tree looked better in the light, but it was indeed a magnificent sight. As well as a rare one, as the city was only sparely spotted with the plants. “Well, let’s hustle up!”

Sparky shrugged, “I think you are. Sometimes.” She giggled, her smile unwavering. 

The smaller girl nodded enthusiastically as she skipped down the sidewalk, her red hair flowing behind her. Her thoughts trailed away, taking dives into random subjects. She wished she could read minds, she wondered what it would be like to be a normal human, she wanted to know what sardines tasted like, maybe how it felt to fly. Sparky was realized she had to keep her thoughts in check, especially around Sev. Then she’d know exactly how she felt about Matt.. Oh well. That’s what a journal was for.

The pair made it to the bar, its glowing neon lights blinding the red head momentarily. She smiled up at Sev before bouncing into the small building, the noise of people and music and glass echoing outward. Matt wasn’t here yet which discouraged the red head, but only slightly. He would get here soon enough.
